Krisana M. Hodges is the principal of the Law Office of Krisana M. Hodges. Krisana is admitted to practice in California and New York. Her practice focuses on business counseling, intellectual property, entertainment and technology transactions.  
 
Krisana is an adjunct professor of law at the University of California Hastings College of the Law. She teaches Law & Sexuality, a civil rights course focusing on issues of sexual orientation and gender identity. Krisana also advises lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender clients in legally protecting their families and responding to discrimination.
 
Krisana has represented clients in all aspects of civil litigation, including trade secret matters, securities class actions, derivative actions, contract disputes and consumer protection cases. Krisana started her legal career as an associate in the New York office of Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom. At Skadden, she was a member of the team representing Merrill Lynch in connection with the New York attorney general’s investigation of its analyst research reports and defending the company in related securities class actions and multi-district litigation. As an associate at the Palo Alto and San Francisco offices of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Krisana represented technology companies in commercial litigation, securities class actions, derivative actions, SEC investigations and NASD investigations.  
 
The Law Office of Krisana M. Hodges is committed to pro bono legal services. Krisana volunteers with the Bay Area Video Coalition (“BAVC”), the National Center for Lesbian Rights (“NCLR”), the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and the Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights. Krisana worked with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund to successfully represent defendants wrongfully convicted of drug related charges in habeas corpus petitions (read more about the Tulia cases). She successfully represented asylum seekers from Sudan and Belarus in immigration proceedings.
